I really wanted to be a greenhead like The Muppets. But I couldn’t find a pair of tights that wouldn’t make me look like an idiot when I walked down the street looking at my boyfriend with his scarred and inked forehead, or when he was chomping on some freshly cut grass, or when he had just plopped onto the floor from some kind of freak accident. I’ve always had an interest in the historical side of things. I have been fascinated with the history and culture of ancient Rome ever since I was a child. The idea of writing about it inspired me to go back and re-read many historic books from my childhood that would capture the essence of a period that is still alive today.
